I'm a Computational Social Scientist
About me
Bridging Data & Society
My research centers on human-centered AI, social media, and science of science, focusing on their societal aspects and impact. I study how information is produced and shared, designing and evaluating initiatives for (science) education, communication, and outreach.
Methodologically, I combine computational social science and human-computer interaction, using methods like natural language processing, social network analysis, and human-centered design. Given the interdisciplinary nature of my work, I seek collaborations across data science, learning sciences, sociology, and media studies.
I am an incoming PhD student at Stanford and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Richmond. Previously, I have conducted research at USC, CMU, and FBK, as well as an industry internship at Amazon Alexa AI. Finally, I co-founded the Brazilian Fair of Young Scientists (FBJC), engaging over 2,000 participants and attracting more than 1 million website visits.
My long-term goal is to promote more informed, equitable, and innovative societies. Working closely with policymakers and industry leaders, I hope my findings will inform practical interventions in policy and design.

Super happy and grateful to have been admitted to several amazing universities, including Master's programs at Harvard and Columbia, as well as PhD programs at Stanford, Northwestern, University of Washington, UC Irvine, and University of Maryland. I accepted Stanford's offer and will start my PhD in the fall!
I'll spend my last semester of college in Italy. Excited to take interesting classes, explore Italian language and culture, and conduct research with Dr. Francesco Pierri at Politecnico di Milano.
The ACM KDD Conference is one of the leading international events on AI and data mining. As a Undergraduate Consortium participant, I learned more about a research career, presented a poster, and attended several sessions about topics like responsible AI and generative AI applications.
My research paper has been published at Revista Educação Pública, in a special issue about science fairs! Before that, my co-author Kritim also presented the project at the International Conference of Computational Social Science (IC2S2) in Philadelphia.
