Game using machine learning to help American Sign Language (ASL) learning

  • Developed and presented during Google's Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI)

After two weeks coding art and game applications daily, this was my final project for the last two weeks of Google’s CSSI program. Collaborating with a partner, I led the planning and implementation of the game’s mechanics, including designing the rules, classes, scoring system, power-ups, and levels. To ensure interactive and accurate gameplay, we trained a machine learning model using over 8,000 images to recognize ASL signs in real-time. We presented thi accessible tool to support ASL learners to Google engineers and product managers and received positive feedback from them.
